| There were a few happenings on my Snowy Mountains Walk over the Christmas New Year period that caused me to think about the attractions of group walking particularly on overnight and extended walks. It seems that almost from the moment we pick up the back pack and walk away from the cars we each take our place in a little tribe. A small self contained cooperative unit with a goal and a purpose. We have a leader - which frees us from most responsibilities - and we belong.
