Much work was done by the early arrivals in cleaning, the hut and collecting and cutting up dead timber for the campfire as well al gathering quite a lot of glass which was in the area of the demolished house just below the hut. However, all work and no play there was still quite a bit of time to enjoy catching up with old and new friends as they arrived in dribs and drabs on Saturday and, some of us even had a swim in the river. The river was quite low with a sandy beach beyond the mud flat which has been exposed at the usual entry place. However, it was - still flowing and there were a few deep. spots.
