It was after a steep descent from Cloudmaker to tiny Thunder Creek at Thunder bend. I watched Tom Wenman and Jan Mohandas step on a rock in middle of creek and then onto a grassy bank. I thought I did the same, but to my surprise as I put my foot on the grass my foot slipped into a hole and badly wrenched my ankle. Jim and I both joined the Club in 1947 where we met, and married in 1949. During those early years, before our daughter was born, we went walking frequently, mainly on overnight trips; we did some wonderful trips and made friends with some wonderful people.
